How to research your vote

As they say, never believe everything you read – so how do you figure out which information sources to believe?

Find out who and what is on your ballot

The Montana Secretary of State and local county elections offices are tasked with providing facts about who and what is on your ballot.

Get to know the people and the issues

Find out candidate background and policy priorities on their website and social media profiles. A general Google search may also bring up news articles and letters to the editor for additional context.

Check the attributions

All paid information, including advertisements and mailers, must include information about what organization (including the candidate's own) paid for that publication.
